If you were still with us here on earth today would be
a celebration of your birth.
But now that you have gone on to heaven, will you still celebrate
it just the same?
Will you gather with the friends and family who had gone on from
times before?
Will you be looking down on us remembering the times of joy we shared,
Just as we are looking up at heaven and missing you just a little
more today?
Do you celebrate your birthday on the same day as you always did?
Or is your new celebration day the day you went to be with the Lord?
Regardless of which one it is, our love for you remains so strong.
We miss the sound of your voice; the smile on your face and the
warmth of your hugs.
Our tears shed here on your behalf are bittersweet –
Saddened by the fact that you are not here to celebrate with us
Cheered on by the knowledge you are wrapped up tightly in the
arms of Jesus.
So, now matter how they celebrate birthdays up in heaven….
Today we send you birthday hugs filled with all our love.
I know the winds will carry them up to where you are
And when I next feel the wind brush soft across my face,
I will know without a doubt that it’s you returning the embrace!
