FREDOM FLAG
We see our flag most every day
It hangs above our homes, our schools and our courts
We wear it on our clothes
We hang them on our walls
But, do we ever stop to recognize the true value of our flag?
Red, White and Blue - these colors are so true
When we see these colors flapping in the wind
we can sense the freedoms that they bring
Freedom to Love...Freedom to Live...
Fredom to Worship...Freedom to Be....
The freedoms it affords us are endless
For these freedoms we must be grateful
But these freedoms don’t come easy
These freedoms don’t come cheap
These freedoms were brought with a price
They were brought with the blood, the sweat and the tears of so many lives
So many lives given up -
remembered only by the flags that fly above their graves
Families that were torn apart as they grieve the news they are told
"You should be proud because your child died a hero for his country"
Words cannot ease the pain of parents, spouses or children
who have given the ultimate sacrifice -
the life of their loved one
So, next time that you see our flag flying high above
Don’t just walk on past it without a thought
Take a moment - stop and praise the many men and women
who gave the ultimate - Sacrificial Love
