You’re more than a friend, you’re family
It’s not the blood that makes it so, but the love
You laugh with us when things are good
When things are bad, our tears you share
You came into our lives just a teenage girl
Alone and so far from home
It didn’t take long till our hearts fell for you
You cared for our son with such compassion and love
You came to us a stranger
But soon, like a daughter you were to us
Time went by as it always does
And our feelings for you grew deeper
Now, a lifelong friend you are
A bond this strong cannot be broken
Whether time or distance keep us apart
