Go Away

Go Away (5/08)

Muscle spasms go away
You're not welcome here at all
You come to visit way too much
Never an invitation were you given
It's bad enough when you come by yourself
But you always bring a friend
Please tell PAIN he's not welcome here with me
This house of mine has room for many and I often bid visitors to stay
But you and pain cause way too much strife and aggravation in my life

Arthritis came when I was young - unbidden, yet he stayed
He caused damage beyond repair with no offers to repay
I've tried many times to send him packing
But he refuses to leave this home
He's tried to bring his friend Pain in as well
And all too often he has managed
I alone can't make him leave
But my other boarders use more force
Thank You, Love, Peace and Happiness for looking out for me

Well, muscle spasms and pain, I have a few words for you
So please listen carefully
You can knock on my door both day and night
But it won't open for you
If you want in, find another way
My friends and I don't want you here
You may find a way to sneak inside
Then settle in you'll try to do
You might stay a day, a week, a month or even more
Don't let that thought comfort you
My house is not a home for you

It may take my friends and I some time to gather all our strength
But once we do - watch out boys
Our fists are coming straight for you
We'll fight with all our heart and soul
You may knock us down, but we'll get up
You can't keep us down for long

When my friends and I find ourselves struggling
It's then you think you've won
You'll settle down and think you're safe
But boys, get ready to run
I have a secret weapon who is always by my side
He is my great defender and He'll knock you back outside
My great defender is also my protector and my very dearest friend

So Jesus ChristI have realized that I can't do this without You
I'm asking now for You to come to send these univited guests far away from me
And when they find there way back to me like they always do
Please give me strength to bear their presence
Until we bid them adieu once again
