I dedicate this poem to my newest niece - I love you Jameson.
I came into this world unsure of what I'd find
The first sight that greeted me was a room
full of smiles from mommy and daddy
This new world seemed such a big, big place
It even seemed a tad bit scary
But somehow I knew from the way that you talked
that you would forever keep me safe from harm
I've listened to your voices for nine months now
They have comforted and guided me as I grew and grew
But now the day has come and I am here to share my life with you
Together we will face this world and all it has to offer
We'll laugh, we'll smile and we'll probably even cry
But through it all one thing shall remain true -
You will always be there by my side
