Miracles Anyone?

(written 6/08)

I’m looking for a miracle

I’d love it bold and brash

To cure me of all aches and pains

And restore me to my prime

I know my hopes and dreams for a future free from pain

Are just a whisper in the wind

This disease that racks my bones and joints has settled in for good

It’s taken possession of my body and refuses to let go

I take so many medicines every morning and each night

They hold this horrid disease at bay

But cause damage of their own

I pray that not only can I endure this pain, but that I can do it with a smile

I need to keep my focus on the good things all around

Then when the aches and pains come, they won’t seem so bad

I may not get my miracle while I’m living here on earth

But of one thing I am certain

My miracle awaits when my Lord takes me home to Him

In heaven no more tears will I shed

All the aches and pains will be a thing of the past

But as for now,

I’m looking for a miracle

I’d love it bold and brash
