More Than A Plane Ride

More Than A Plane Ride
(written 6/08)

I started out this morning prepared for a simple plane ride
Instead I got a glimpse of God's beauty in its place
The plane slowly taxied down a runway
lined by the glistening of the waterways placed there by God above
The water rippled as it reflected the amazing rays of sunshine designed to do just that
As the wheels lifted off and the plane began to climb
All of my senses seemed to come alive

Gazing out the window I couldn't help but feel in awe
Up above the clouds of billowy white were hanging everywhere
I felt them calling out to me to come and rest awhile
Softness emanated from them
as if I myself were lying amidst the center of them all
No fear of falling through them ever crossed my mind
As I knew with God they were secure for all of time

A quick glance down and my heart began to quicken
Only God Himself could ever create such beauty here on earth
The colors were so vibrant and the scene so picturesque
Happiness overwhelmed me as a sense of peace overtook me
A sudden thought occurred to me in that very instant
If God blessed us with such beauty for our limited time on earth
Imagine how much more He has in store for us when eternity we reach
