Oh Lord my God I come to you. In my mind I’m down on bended knees.I know without a doubt that you hear all my cries and pleas.The normal ups and downs of life have taken on a life all their very own.It seems as if the downs are commandeering more of ever day.We see the dangling dream of hope right before our eyes.As we pin our dreams upon it and reach out to grab on hold, the light that once surrounded it begins to flicker before our very eyes.With a simple blink of our eyes that light is now extinguished leaving us in a pit of darkness. On and on the cycle goes – hope and light then darkness and despair.Yet though it all one thing remains the same.Deep within my very soul I feel Your presence telling me to just hang tough.You’ve given us our family to lean upon each other when trials become too hard to bear.Through the trials our love can only grow stronger as we love and encourage one another.I know You have a plan for us although I know not what it is.I trust in You and lean on You when things begin to falter.It takes just the tiniest spark of light from You to brighten up the darkness of the hope that we had thought was lost.My prayer to You tonight is that You will help us see that while we are looking for the open door to lead us to our destiny that we don’t overlook the window that You’ve opened before us that will bring us closer to Your will.Help us encourage one another daily and lean on You for all our needs and when the time is right for us may we grab Your hand and leap willingly through the very window that You’ve just led us to.The darkness can’t remain dark if we just keep the light of Christ burning in our hearts.I give myself and my family wholeheartedly over to You to guide us and protect us through whatever lies ahead.And in return You must know that now and always You will have my utter love and devotion knowing that You as my Lord and Savior have always been there for me.
Yes I may get discouraged – some days even utterly dismayed but through it all I can vow to You that I’ll never let the world or any circumstances ever put out the light within my very soul that burns just for you.
