Noises in the Night

By Kathleen W Rodgers   9/29/08

Raspy...

Throaty...

Uneven breathing....

Then -  nothing but silence

Wheezing...

Hoarseness...

Deep from the gut...

Then - nothing but silence

Night after night

The same noises I hear

Should I be frightened? Should I be scared?

No need for alarm. No need for fear.

The noises I hear bring me comfort and warmth

It's the sound of his snoring and it reminds me I am not alone

Wrapped safe in his arms in the comfort of home!
