Rescue Me

Rescue Me

(By KW Rodgers for Spunky 7/08)

Abandoned, left for dead

Left to struggle on my own

So helpless and afraid

Eyes so hollow, so empty

Devoid of all hope

Hunger dictates my every move

Not only for food but starving for affection

Along comes my guardian angel

Standing just 4 feet tall

With hair glistening of gold

Sweet and gentle talking

Safety and security beckon me towards him

No longer afraid

A second chance I’ve been given

Love and laughter now surround me

So unfamiliar, yet so alluring

Time heals my wounded heart

My body grows stronger with each passing day

One day I awaken, my eyes no longer red

They glisten and they shine with love and with life

No longer am I fearful or afraid

I know that I am safe for all time

With my blonde-haired angel boy

Waiting lovingly by my side
