Time is a commodity, limited in scope
We dream of endless days and nights, but we can surely hope
We only have so many tomorrows before our lives are through
How we live them and who we are is determined by what we do
It doesn't matter what we wear or what kind of car we drive
Nor how much money that we make while we are still alive
The people that we meet along life's way have helped to mold us into the person we are today
We laugh and smile when things are going well and wish they always would
It's times like these we want to last but life doesn't work that way
A crisis here - a crisis there - one too many will test our faith in life's unending game
If we can laugh amidst the pain and tears we can watch our lives extended by some happier years
Lend a hand to those you meet and take a hand when offered you
Teach your children right from wrong and show them how to choose
Show them how to play life's games - how to win and yes, how to lose
Let them know it's how they play the game that makes them who they are
They will leave a mark on all they meet so let it be for good
Our time on earth is short so we must use it well
Let others see the good in us by all the things we say and do
We may not live to see all that good that we have done but our legacy lives on for eternity
So let's live our lives as if every day could be our very last
