A young boys voice Floating through the air Whispered words of sorrow Spoken softly for no one to hear
Tears of sadness and loneliness Slipping quietly down his face When no one is looking He thinks its safe to let them flow
A little boy trying to be brave Afraid, yet still fearless A little boy trying to be a man Contradictions so hard to master in life
Mommy in a hospital so very far from home She misses him so very much The tears slip from her eyes How can she make this right?
God takes his voice, his tears, his sorrow And drops them in the wind It doesn't take much but a simple gust His love is carried straight to her
The miles between them lessen momentarily As they speak one to another Hugs and kisses given and received Amazing what can happen when we listen to the vocies in the wind
Her words dry up his tears They take away his sorrow Happiness fills his voice Laughter fills the air
She knows it's only temporary Until she's home it just won't end So each and every day she has but one simple job To listen to the voice in the wind
